Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is back from his New Year holiday and jumping into work mode. He shared in his blog how the ‘joy of solitude’ during his break has now turned into the ‘joys of work and routine.’ For Big B, routine is a comfort, though he admits it’s a legacy of aging. Yet, he remains grateful for the simple blessings in life.
On January 3, Bachchan took a moment to pay tribute to some of the iconic personalities India lost in 2024. Among them were Ratan Tata, Zakir Hussain, former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, and filmmaker Shyam Benegal. The loss of such diverse legends affected the nation profoundly.
Amitabh shared a meaningful cartoon by artist Satish Acharya. The artwork featured the four greats with a message emphasizing unity in diversity. “A Parsi, a Muslim, a Sikh, and a Hindu passed away in 2024, remembered just as Indians,” he captioned.
The departures of these icons were deeply felt. Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at 92 due to age-related complications. Days earlier, filmmaker Shyam Benegal succumbed to chronic kidney disease at 90. Business titan Ratan Tata left the world at 86 in October, while celebrated tabla maestro Zakir Hussain passed at 73.
Even while reflecting on loss, Amitabh remains active in the film industry. His recent project, ‘Vettaiyan,’ saw him collaborate with stars like Rajinikanth and Fahadh Faasil. At 81, he’s still proving why he remains one of India’s greatest treasures.
Bachchan’s reflections remind us to honor the past, cherish the present, and keep moving forward.
