Yami Gautam is living her best life. Between a thriving career, a happy marriage, and now motherhood, she says her true happiness lies at home.
She’s been married for four years to filmmaker Aditya Dhar, and the couple bond over simple joys like home-cooked food. Yami says Aditya usually cooks, but she’s been improving her own kitchen skills too.
Aditya has also changed the way she looks at cinema. She loves his motto ‘break the pattern’ and says working with great directors has shaped her into the artist she is today.
Though she stays tight-lipped about her next film, rumored to be based on Shah Bano, she insists that what makes a role powerful is the detail in the script – real story or not.
She still receives praise for her role in Article 370 and isn’t shy about defending it from critics who called it propaganda. “If patriotism feels like propaganda to someone, they probably don’t want to have a real discussion,” she says.
Despite all the fame, Yami says success hasn’t changed her. From Chandigarh streets to the big screen, her journey continues strong – and she’s just getting started.
