Vicky Kaushal’s Intense Prep for ‘Chhaava’

Vicky Kaushal is set to bring history to life with his upcoming film ‘Chhaava’. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the movie tells the story of the fearless Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The film hits theaters on February 14.

During promotions in Jaipur, Vicky shared his intense preparation process. He revealed that playing a historical figure requires both physical and mental training. To prepare, he underwent action and bodybuilding training, along with deep historical research.

The actor recalled first hearing about the project from Utekar during the shoot of ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’. Though he knew about Chhatrapati Sambhaji from school, he had to dive deeper to understand the ruler’s life.

A significant physical transformation was necessary for the role. Vicky gained 25 kg, learned horse riding, and trained in sword fighting over seven months. His director wanted him to embody the strength of a lion, so he worked hard to achieve that vision.

Apart from Vicky, the movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna. The film is expected to be a gripping period drama with high production value.

With ‘Chhaava’, Vicky explores historical cinema for the first time. His dedication and hard work promise an exciting watch for audiences on Valentine’s Day.
