Actor Urvashi Rautela is in hot water after comments she made regarding the stabbing of Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence. The controversy deepened when she posted an apology on Instagram, only to delete it later, sparking criticism online.
During an interview, Rautela expressed concern for Saif but veered into talking about her own insecurities regarding expensive jewellery, including a diamond-studded Rolex and a mini watch gifted by her parents. While trying to link her fears to the attack, she called the incident ‘unfortunate.’
Following a wave of criticism, Rautela issued a heartfelt apology on Instagram. She admitted to being insensitive and unaware of the gravity of Saif’s condition. The post acknowledged her focus on the success of her film, “Daaku Maharaaj,” instead of Saif’s ordeal.
However, her public apology didn’t last long. Social media noticed she deleted the post, leading to accusations of insincerity. Users branded it a “publicity stunt,” questioning why she apologized if she didn’t seem serious about it.
The stabbing occurred when an intruder attacked Saif at his home early Thursday morning, leaving him with injuries near his spine and neck. He underwent surgeries at Lilavati Hospital and is now recovering. Saif’s team has assured fans he is out of danger.
As of Saturday, the Mumbai police are still investigating and haven’t detained any suspects. Meanwhile, Rautela’s actions have added fuel to an already tense situation online.
