Two Women Launch Bold New Platform for Social Change in Chandigarh

On a warm Thursday in Chandigarh, a new chapter in community action began. The Common Table (TCT), a fresh idea led by two women, Bani Cheema and Geetanjali Gupta, was launched at Ikk Punjab in Sector 26.

TCT is set up as a space for big ideas and even bigger change. It aims to bring together minds from education, health, arts, culture, and sustainability to share, learn, and spark new solutions.

Bani, a global health expert from the US, and Geetanjali, a financial analyst turned changemaker, returned to India to build something meaningful. “We want to create a compassionate future,” Geetanjali said.

The event also marked the book launch of Leena Gupta, former Miss India-America turned life coach. Her book, Anchor Within, digs into finding strength through life’s toughest moments, like her battle with vitiligo.

Leena was the first speaker under TCT’s program called Breaking Barriers, which plans to invite powerful voices for change. Her message? Don’t give up, rise up.

In short, TCT is not just a table—it’s a movement. And as more changemakers join in, the city of Chandigarh might just become ground zero for social transformation.
