Tom Cruise made a grand entrance at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday night for the premiere of his new movie, Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning. The 61-year-old actor still knows how to wow a crowd.
He hit the red carpet with director Christopher McQuarrie, his long-time partner in the Mission: Impossible series. Cruise stopped for selfies, signed posters, and even acknowledged fans holding tributes from his past hits.
Fans were thrilled, waving memorabilia from The Last Samurai and Mission: Impossible II. A small group even put together a tribute to Val Kilmer, Cruise’s co-star from Top Gun.
Cruise last showed up at Cannes in 2022 for Top Gun: Maverick. That film got a six-minute standing ovation and Cruise received an honorary Palme d’Or, one of the festival’s top honors.
This latest Mission: Impossible installment boasts an impressive cast, including Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, and Hayley Atwell. Expect wild stunts, serious action, and Cruise doing what he does best.
The movie hits theaters globally on May 23. But for Indian fans, the wait is shorter—it lands in cinemas there on May 17.
