Tillotama Shome Shines in ‘Baksho Bondi’ After ‘Paatal Lok 2’

Tillotama Shome jumped straight from ‘Paatal Lok 2’ to her latest film ‘Baksho Bondi’ in just three days. The actress played strong, non-decorative women in both projects.

She portrayed SP Meghna Barua in ‘Paatal Lok 2’ and Maya, a hardworking Bengali woman, in ‘Baksho Bondi’. The latter premiered at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival under the Perspectives section.

Shome felt the spirit of her ‘Paatal Lok’ team carried into her new project. She expressed gratitude for playing meaningful roles and living this phase of her life.

‘Baksho Bondi’ tells the story of Maya and her son struggling to cope after her husband, a PTSD-affected retired soldier, mysteriously disappears. The film is co-directed by newcomers Tanushree Das and Saumyananda Sahi.

Despite the filmmakers being debutants, Shome trusted them because the script spoke for itself. Working with them became a deeply emotional and fulfilling experience for her.

Shome, acclaimed for films like ‘Sir’ and ‘Delhi Crime 2’, has received glowing reviews for ‘Baksho Bondi’. While she hasn’t signed her next project yet, she admits working on such meaningful films has set high expectations for her future roles.
