‘The Bodyguard’ Remake Is Finally Moving Ahead

Warner Bros. is officially rebooting the 1992 hit film ‘The Bodyguard’. Sam Wrench, who directed ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’, is set to take the helm.

The original starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner and became a global sensation. Now, after years of delays, a new version is finally in the works.

No casting news yet, but Jonathan Abrams will write the script. He’s known for his work on Clint Eastwood’s ‘Juror #2’.

This remake has been in development since 2011. A previous script draft came from Matthew Lopez, but this new version is moving forward with fresh eyes.

The original storyline followed a bodyguard protecting a famous singer from a stalker. It made big bucks at the box office and earned two Oscar nominations.

Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ lives on as one of the film’s most iconic moments. The film even inspired a stage musical in London back in 2012.

Fans of the classic can expect a modern take, with big shoes to fill. The remake doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s one step closer to reality.
