Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri has won the 72nd Miss World title. The grand finale took place on Saturday with contestants from over 100 countries.
Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje Admassu came in second. India’s Nandini Gupta didn’t make it to the top eight.
This year’s event was held in Telangana, India. It included a month of cultural activities, competitions, and community work.
Opal is a student of international relations. She’s into psychology and dreams of becoming an ambassador.
She’s also known for playing the ukulele backwards and owning 16 cats and 5 dogs! She’s worked with breast cancer support groups too.
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was also honored, receiving the Miss World Humanitarian Award. The winner was announced by Julia Morley, Chairwoman of Miss World.
