Sooraj Barjatya Brings Family Drama to OTT with 'Bada Naam Karenge'

Sooraj Barjatya, the man behind classic family films like Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun, is making his OTT debut. His new series, Bada Naam Karenge, will premiere on SonyLIV on February 7.

OTT platforms usually prefer crime thrillers, but SonyLIV approached Barjatya for a family-oriented show. He was excited to bring back wholesome storytelling that appeals to all generations.

The series follows two small-town youngsters navigating life in Mumbai while staying true to their roots. Ritik Ghanshani and Ayesha Kaduskar play lead roles in this heartwarming love story.

Barjatya believes that love has evolved but its essence remains the same. He insists that simple, emotional stories still have a place in modern entertainment.

He recalls advice from mentor Mahesh Bhatt, who told him to stay true to his style. Following this, Barjatya continues to create content rooted in traditional values.

With a legacy spanning 75 years, Rajshri Productions is now led by his sons. Barjatya hopes to keep the essence of his films alive while adapting to new formats.

Even with his busy schedule, he finds time to read and meditate. He loves classics like Sound of Music and remains inspired by his early days in Agra. His journey proves that good stories never fade.
