Sonu Nigam Says Sorry to Karnataka After Stage Drama

Singer Sonu Nigam has issued a public apology after a recent controversy at his concert in Bengaluru. The singer posted a heartfelt note on Instagram saying, “Sorry, Karnataka. My Love for you, is bigger than my Ego.”

The incident happened on April 25 during his performance at a college fest. A group of boys reportedly pushed him to sing in the Kannada language.

In response, Sonu made a comment linking the demand to a previous incident in Pahalgam, which sparked backlash. His words didn’t sit well with some locals who felt hurt by the remarks.

Soon after, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) jumped in. On Monday, they announced a ‘non-cooperation’ move against the singer over the issue.

An FIR has also been filed against Nigam at the Avalahalli Police Station in Bengaluru on May 3. The complaint points to his controversial comments.

Despite the growing heat, Sonu’s apology seems to be a step toward peace. Whether the Kannada film industry accepts it or not remains to be seen.
