Indian sitar legend Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan amazed the audience with his performance at Bhargava Auditorium, Chandigarh. The event was organized by SPIC MACAY on Tuesday.
A Padma Shri awardee, Ustad Parvez belongs to the seventh generation of the Etawah Gharana. Despite his grand musical lineage, he has always focused on carving his own path in classical music.
His musical journey began at the age of four when he received his first sitar from his father, Ustad Aziz Khan. Since then, the instrument has been his constant companion in his quest for excellence.
Ustad Parvez enjoys a variety of music, from ghazals and qawwalis to Bollywood songs. He believes good music still exists, although its percentage has decreased over the years.
Passionate about nurturing young talent, he stresses the importance of dedication. He says that everything of value takes time, and aspiring musicians must be willing to work hard.
With his mesmerizing tunes and deep wisdom, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan continues to inspire music lovers across generations.
