Samridhii Shukla, the face of Abhira in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, shared her thoughts on personal growth and storytelling on Indian television. She’s been in the industry for three years and says she’s still learning every day.
“I think I’ve evolved,” she said, but admits that growth is a work in progress. Samridhii constantly works on improving her performance and says she likes to ask herself how to feel each emotion differently in her scenes.
Her role in the long-running show continues to challenge her. She believes there’s always room to reinvent how her character connects with the audience.
Samridhii also shared her views on how TV content is changing. She says, “If television wants to stay relevant, it has to reflect how society is shifting.”
In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, women from different generations show this evolution. According to her, today’s viewers want female characters who dream big and stand up for themselves.
