The 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards lit up Los Angeles with big wins for both film and TV stars. Hosted by Kristen Bell, the event was streamed live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall.
In the film category, ‘Conclave’ stole the spotlight, taking home Best Ensemble Cast. Timothee Chalamet won Best Actor for his role as Bob Dylan in ‘A Complete Unknown,’ while Demi Moore secured Best Actress for ‘The Substance.’
Kieran Culkin was named Best Supporting Actor for ‘A Real Pain,’ and Zoe Saldana won Best Supporting Actress for ‘Emilia Perez.’ The evening saw a mix of seasoned stars and fresh faces celebrating achievements on the grand stage.
On the TV side, ‘Shogun’ dominated, winning Best Drama Series Ensemble. Anna Sawai won Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Toda Mariko, and Hiroyuki Sanada claimed Best Actor for playing Yoshii Toranaga.
Comedy was not left behind, with ‘Only Murders in the Building’ winning Best Comedy Series Ensemble. Martin Short and Jean Smart took Best Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series for their roles in ‘Only Murders in the Building’ and ‘Hacks,’ respectively.
Special honors went to industry veteran Jane Fonda, who received the prestigious Life Achievement Award. With stellar performances and well-deserved trophies, the night celebrated the best in film and television once again.
