Prime Minister Narendra Modi applauded the Marathi film ‘Chhaava’ at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan. He acknowledged Maharashtra’s contribution to both Marathi and Hindi cinema.

The film, starring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has been a massive success. It has grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide within a week of its release.

Kaushal expressed his gratitude on Instagram, calling Modi’s words an ‘honour beyond words.’ Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Yesubai, also thanked the Prime Minister via social media.

The movie’s production house, Maddock Films, shared Modi’s speech on its official Instagram. The studio called it a ‘historic honour’ to have the Prime Minister recognize Sambhaji Maharaj’s legacy.

‘Chhaava’ has been declared tax-free in Goa and Madhya Pradesh. The cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Ashutosh Rana.

The film’s success continues to grow, with audiences and critics praising its storytelling and performances. With Modi’s mention, its popularity is expected to rise even further.
