Pollywood filmmaker Nav Bajwa is back with a fresh idea—this time, he’s diving into the world of astrology with a web series called ‘Takdeer’. Known for bringing sci-fi to Punjabi cinema, Nav now aims to show the scientific side of astrology.
The first two episodes, ‘Deport’ and ‘Aulaad’, were unveiled with the cast including BN Sharma, Deepak Niaz, and child actor Saarthak. Real-life astrologer Satvinder Singh, also part of the launch, answered questions about astrology’s role in life and art.
Nav revealed he once confused astrology with astronomy and even dreamed of being an astronaut. Now, he’s not only acting and directing, but also reading birth charts. “I don’t decide release dates without checking,” he admits.
The stories in the series touch on themes like chasing dreams abroad and parent-child relationships. Nav hopes the show makes people see astrology beyond superstition.
Satvinder Singh calls Indian astrology deeply rooted and precise. While he can’t promise a film’s success, he swears by picking the right dates to begin projects.
Meanwhile, Nav gears up for his film ‘Madhaniyan’ and hopes to showcase Punjabi cinema at international festivals. “I want to take our stories global, just like South Indian films have,” he says with pride.
