A 26-year-old man from Gujarat who allegedly sent a death threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been found, and police say he is mentally unstable.
The Mumbai Police tracked down the suspect, Mayank Pandya, to a village in Vadodara’s Waghodia area. They didn’t arrest him but gave him a notice to appear when called.
The threat came via WhatsApp to the Mumbai Traffic Police on Sunday. It claimed the sender would bomb Khan’s car and attack him at his home.
Mumbai Police quickly filed a case and increased security around Salman Khan’s house in Bandra. The man was located the next day with help from local police in Waghodia.
Officials confirmed the man is undergoing mental health treatment. He will still need to report to the Mumbai Police for any future investigation.
Khan has faced threats before, including a gunfire incident outside his home last year and warnings from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He continues to live under Y-Plus security for safety.
