Lindsay Lohan is ready for change. After three back-to-back Netflix romantic comedies, she says it’s time to switch things up.
Lohan starred in “Falling for Christmas,” “Irish Wish,” and “Our Little Secret.” All three made Netflix’s top-ten list, but she’s not looking to stick to the same playbook forever.
The 38-year-old told Elle magazine that she loves making rom-coms that bring joy. But even feel-good projects have their limit.
“With Netflix, I was like, ‘Okay, now we need to be thinking about other stuff,’” she said. “I can’t do movies like these forever.”
Next up, she’s stepping back into a fan-favorite role for Disney’s “Freakier Friday.” It’s the sequel to the 2003 body-swap comedy with Jamie Lee Curtis.
Lohan said making it felt “easy and fun”—just what she wants audiences to feel. The movie hits theaters August 8 and promises to be a burst of nostalgia with a fresh twist.
