Jim Sarbh’s New Film Explores VR Love

Jim Sarbh is back with a unique short film, ‘Next, Please.’ The film takes a fresh look at modern relationships through virtual reality.

Sarbh plays an eccentric bar owner alongside Shreya Dhanwanthary. The story follows Arpita, a cynic trying a VR-powered dating experience, where she meets Vinay in a 1920s-style Mumbai speakeasy.

Things take a twist when Arpita breaks the rules by removing her VR headset. What she sees next challenges her perception of love and reality.

Sarbh finds the concept intriguing and unsettling. He says VR dating feels like old-school romance with a tech twist—messy, raw, and unexpected.

Presented by Royal Stag Barrel Select Shorts and Chaitanya Tamhane, the film questions how technology is shaping human intimacy.

Adding to its charm, the film features an unreleased song by composer Madan Mohan, sung by Mohammed Rafi, originally made for a 1960s film that was never released.

Co-star Shreya Dhanwanthary reflects on modern dating struggles, saying technology is evolving fast while people struggle to keep up. ‘Next, Please’ offers a thought-provoking take on love in the digital age.
