Several popular Pakistani celebrities have had their Instagram accounts blocked in India. Stars like Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, and others are now inaccessible to Indian users.
When people in India try to view their profiles, they get a message saying the content is restricted due to a legal request. This move comes after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that killed 26 civilians.
Despite the ban, Indian fans aren’t backing down. Many are using VPNs to continue following their favorite stars online. Actress Hania Aamir received a flood of love after one fan said, “We got a VPN for you.” She replied, “Ro doongi… love you.”
This digital blockade is part of a larger crackdown by the Indian government. Reports say 16 Pakistani YouTube channels were also banned for spreading anti-India content.
In response to the attack, India has tightened diplomatic and economic ties with Pakistan. It has also suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, cancelled visas, ended trade deals, and barred Pakistani flights from using Indian airspace.
Officials say these are strong steps to send a clear message. The government is aiming to protect national security and prevent misinformation from spreading.
