Harleen Kaur Rekhi, once admired as Mandodari in Shrimad Ramayana, is now winning over audiences as Mata Sita in the stage play Humare Ram. The production also stars the seasoned Ashutosh Rana as Ravana.
Harleen has been part of theatre since 2011 and has acted in over 60 plays. She trained at Shri Ram Centre in Mandi House, which she lovingly calls her first acting school.
Sharing the stage with Rana is a dream come true for her. She says every moment with the veteran actor, known for his powerful delivery, feels fresh and inspiring.
Despite rising screen entertainment, Harleen firmly believes in the magic of live theatre. She says the art form offers real, raw experiences that no camera can match.
She recalls a touching moment when an elderly couple approached her with tears and prasad after a performance — a memory she holds close to her heart.
For Harleen, theatre is more than a career — it’s a lifelong passion. And with her role as Sita, she continues to make a deep emotional impact on audiences.
