Guneet Monga Backs Rising Women Producers at Cannes

Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga Kapoor is making waves again—this time at Cannes 2025. She’s launched Women in Film India (WIF India), a bold new platform to support female talent in Indian cinema.

WIF India is the newest chapter of the international Women in Film network. The group just went public with its website and promises more programs on the way.

The first big move? A spotlight on three up-and-coming women producers from India at the world-famous Cannes Film Festival.

Guneet says it’s about more than just recognition. “We’re building real pathways for mentorship, access, and leadership,” she explained. “This is a long-term commitment.”

To celebrate the launch, WIF India introduced its first fellowship: The Women in Film India Fellowship – Cannes Producers Edition.

This year’s first fellows are producers Tillotama Shome, Rucha Pathak, and Dimpy Agarwal—names to watch in the coming years.

With Guneet Monga Kapoor at the helm, WIF India is aiming to change the game for women in Indian entertainment.
