Pakistani star Fawad Khan and Indian actress Vaani Kapoor have expressed heartbreak over the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Their upcoming film ‘Abir Gulaal’ is now facing boycott calls growing louder each day.
On Tuesday, 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed in a brutal terror strike. This is being called the worst attack in the Valley since the Pulwama incident in 2019.
Fawad Khan, returning to Bollywood after nearly a decade, called the Pahalgam attack “heinous” in an emotional Instagram post. He said he was praying for the victims and their families.
Vaani Kapoor also spoke out, saying she was “numb” and “gutted” after seeing the news. She sent her prayers and support to those affected.
Meanwhile, India’s biggest film workers’ union FWICE has renewed its call for a total boycott of Pakistani artists. They warned that anyone collaborating with Pakistani talent will face disciplinary action.
The makers of ‘Abir Gulaal’ had earlier announced a May 9 release date. Now, the film’s future seems uncertain as the controversy deepens.
