Eva Longoria to Receive Prestigious Platino Award

Eva Longoria is set to be honored with the Platino Award at the 12th Platino Awards in Madrid on April 27. The award recognizes her incredible career in film and television, as well as her contributions to the Latino community in Hollywood.

Longoria rose to fame as Gabrielle Solis in ‘Desperate Housewives’ in 2004. Before that, she made guest appearances in various US TV shows starting in 2000. She later appeared in hit series like Empire, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Jane the Virgin.

She expanded her work beyond acting when she launched her own production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. Behind the camera, she worked on multiple projects, including the TV series Grand Hotel.

In 2023, Longoria made her directorial debut with Flamin’ Hot, a film about Richard Montañez, the man who claims to have created Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. The movie became Searchlight Pictures’ most-watched streaming release.

Flamin’ Hot even earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. The film was screened at the White House with President Joe Biden in attendance.

With this award, Longoria joins past winners like Benicio del Toro, Carmen Maura, and Diego Luna. She follows last year’s recipient, Cecilia Roth, cementing her legacy in the entertainment industry.
