Popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav has landed in trouble. The National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned him over alleged racist remarks against actor Chum Darang.
Yadav has been asked to appear before the NCW on February 17. The panel acted after he mocked Darang’s name and ethnicity during a podcast with Bigg Boss 18 contestant Rajat Dalal.
The comments quickly went viral, sparking backlash on social media. He also made fun of Darang’s role in the movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi.’
Chum reacted strongly by posting a statement on Instagram. She criticized how identity and achievements were disrespected under the guise of humor.
This incident comes amid debates on online content regulation. Recently, YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia also faced criticism for inappropriate jokes on a comedy podcast.
Allahbadia has now approached the Supreme Court. He seeks to combine multiple FIRs filed against him across India for his controversial remarks.
