Diljit Shines at Met Gala with Royal Maharaja Look

Diljit Dosanjh made a bold debut at the Met Gala 2025, wearing a royal white outfit that nodded to Indian heritage. His look, complete with a turban, kirpan, and heavy jewels, paid tribute to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala.

The highlight of his outfit was a jaw-dropping layered necklace crafted from over 2,500 diamonds and emeralds. Made by Golecha Jewels from Jaipur, it took four months to finish.

At the center of the necklace sat an 80-carat emerald, while the choker piece weighed in at seven carats. The design was inspired by archival pictures of the Maharaja, who once had Cartier create a 1,000-carat necklace.

Golecha’s team said the jewelry not only showed royalty but matched Diljit’s calm and grounded personality. “It’s soulful and honest—just like him,” said Manav Golecha, the brand’s owner.

The necklace’s diamonds took cues from the famous Golconda mines in India. The whole setup gave fans a look into both Indian history and Diljit’s style.

With this appearance, Diljit didn’t just walk the Met Gala red carpet—he brought a piece of Punjab’s regal past with him.
