Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh made his grand Met Gala debut in 2025, turning heads in a regal white outfit inspired by the Maharaja of Patiala. The singer showed up in full royal style, representing his roots in the biggest fashion night of the year.
Designed by American-Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung, the outfit featured a white and gold sherwani, a matching tehmat, and a bejeweled turban topped with a white ‘kalgi’. Gurung also previously dressed Bollywood star Alia Bhatt.
Diljit’s look was more than just fashion—it was a statement. His outfit included a lion-headed kirpan, a cape with a silhouette of Punjab, and Gurmukhi script stitched into it.
Videos shared by his team on Instagram showed him walking confidently out of his hotel, ready for the big night. One caption simply read, “HISTORY.” Another video showed him twirling his moustache, with the words: “He wore a Legacy.”
At the event held in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Diljit even dined with global icon Shakira. The vibe was stylish, fun, and proud.
This moment marks another big win for Diljit, who has been selling out stadiums worldwide and breaking barriers for Punjabi artists on global platforms.
With tradition and glam packed into one, Diljit’s Met Gala debut was more than fashion—it was culture meeting couture.
