Cartier, the iconic French luxury brand, is in the spotlight at London’s V&A Museum starting today. The new exhibition showcases over 350 dazzling pieces of jewellery from the early 1900s to now.
Founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, the brand quickly became a favorite of royal families and Hollywood stars. From tiaras to watches, the timeless craftsmanship keeps people coming back.
Curator Helen Molesworth said at the launch that Cartier’s style “never goes out of fashion.” The British royal family’s love for Cartier began as early as 1902 with a royal warrant from King Edward VII.
Among the headliners are Queen Elizabeth II’s exquisite pink diamond brooch and Princess Margaret’s rose clip worn at her sister’s coronation. These pieces are rich in history and sparkle.
Hollywood fans are also well-represented. Grace Kelly’s famous engagement ring, Elizabeth Taylor’s ruby necklace, and Jackie Kennedy’s 1962 watch—later owned by Kim Kardashian—are all on display.
Even Rihanna made the cut, having worn a Cartier tiara originally made in 1902. According to Molesworth, Cartier has always blended heritage with innovation, making pieces that speak to each new generation.
This show isn’t just for jewellery lovers—it’s a walk through fashion, fame, and history, all told through the magic of Cartier gems.
