Bollywood Rushes to Grab 'Operation Sindoor' Film Titles

Bollywood is racing to cash in on India’s recent military operation with over 30 film title requests linked to ‘Operation Sindoor’ filed in just two days. Producers are fighting to claim titles like ‘Operation Sindoor,’ ‘Mission Sindoor,’ and ‘Sindoor: The Revenge.’

The buzz began after India carried out strikes on terror camps in Pakistan following the Pahalgam massacre. Naturally, filmmakers saw a story waiting to be told on the big screen.

Industry associations like IMPPA, IFTPC, and WIFPA reported an instant jump in title registration emails. An official said the number could hit 60 soon.

Names like Aditya Dhar, Madhur Bhandarkar, and Suniel Shetty are among those in the title race. Major studios, including T-Series, have also shown interest.

Past military events like Kargil and Uri inspired similar Bollywood responses. “It’s not new,” said IMPPA’s secretary Anil Nagrath. “Filmmakers want to tap into what India feels proud of.”

The title process runs on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis, with no favoritism, says Nagrath. Meanwhile, Reliance Industries withdrew its own application after saying it was filed by error.
