Bollywood Loves a Good Indo-Pak War Story

Bollywood has always had a soft spot for Indo-Pak war dramas. These films mix patriotism, action, and emotion to pull viewers into real-life battles and brave stories.

One of the earliest blockbusters was Border (1997), based on the Battle of Longewala. It showed Indian soldiers fighting against all odds during the 1971 war.

In 2003, LOC Kargil took audiences to the icy peaks where Indian troops fought to reclaim territory during the 1999 Kargil War. Directed by JP Dutta, it was a long but star-studded tribute to fallen heroes.

The 2019 hit, Uri: The Surgical Strike, recreated India’s 2016 strike on Pakistan-based terror camps. It became famous for the line, “How’s the Josh?”

Raazi (2018) added a spy twist to the genre. It followed a young Indian woman who risked everything as an undercover agent in Pakistan.

Then came Shershaah (2021), the emotional story of Captain Vikram Batra, a real-life hero from the Kargil War. His bravery and sacrifice moved many.

More recent films like Gadar 2, Bhuj: The Pride of India, and the upcoming Sky Force continue the trend. They spotlight individual acts of valor during different Indo-Pak conflicts.

These movies aren’t just action flicks; they keep the memory of India’s heroes alive, one frame at a time.
