Bollywood Bids Farewell to Manoj Kumar

Bollywood stars gathered on Sunday to remember legendary actor Manoj Kumar. A prayer meet was held at a five-star hotel in Mumbai to honour his life and work.

Aamir Khan, Jaya Bachchan, and Asha Parekh were among the many who came to pay their respects. Kumar, known for his patriotic roles, passed away Friday at the age of 87 due to age-related health issues.

His real name, Harikrishan Goswami, was displayed on a large placard alongside a young photo of him, decked with white flowers. The sign also marked his birth on July 24, 1937, and his passing on April 4, 2025.

Manoj Kumar was famously called ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his patriotic films like “Upkar,” “Shaheed,” and “Kranti.” His filmography also includes classics like “Woh Kaun Thi?” and “Roti Kapda Aur Makan.”

The event saw the presence of many film veterans—Ramesh Sippy, Rakesh Roshan, David Dhawan, Jaaved Jaaferi, and singers like Sonu Nigam and Udit Narayan. Family members and friends showed strong support.

The actor leaves behind a legacy of powerful cinema and national pride. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

It was a touching farewell to a man who truly loved his country both on and off the screen.
