
The ashes of legendary actor Manoj Kumar were immersed in the Ganga river at Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar, on Saturday. His family gathered to perform the final rituals with a priest at the sacred Brahma Kund ghat.
Known as ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his iconic roles in patriotic films, Manoj Kumar passed away on April 4 in Mumbai due to age-related health issues. He was 87.
Movies like “Upkar,” “Purab Aur Paschim,” and “Kranti” made him a beloved symbol of patriotism in Indian cinema. Fans across generations still remember his quiet intensity and love for the country.
His sons, Kunal and Vishal Goswami, took part in the final rites. “We pray for his peace and hope he finds a place in heaven,” Kunal said after the immersion.
The actor had been unwell for some time and had stepped away from public life. He is survived by his wife, Shashi.
