Music legend AR Rahman was admitted to a Chennai hospital on Sunday due to dehydration. He was discharged after a few hours, with doctors confirming he was fine.
His estranged wife, Saira Banu, sent good wishes through a statement from her lawyer. In an audio message, she clarified they are not officially divorced yet.
Banu expressed relief over Rahman’s health and shared that he underwent angiography after experiencing chest pain. She also urged people not to call her his ‘ex-wife.’
She explained that they are only separated due to her health issues over the past two years. Despite this, she wished him well and asked his family to take care of him.
Rahman and Banu married in 1995 and announced their separation in November 2024 after nearly three decades. They have three children together.
Reports say Rahman felt discomfort and neck pain after returning from an overseas trip. Fans were relieved after learning he had recovered.
