Andaz Apna Apna Re-release Packs a Punch at Box Office

The 1994 cult comedy ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ has made a big splash at the box office again. Its re-release earned Rs 1.2 crore in just the opening weekend.

Starring Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, the movie returned to theatres on April 25. Fans swarmed in, turning screenings into sing-along, laugh-out-loud events.

Cinepolis India’s boss Devang Sampat said the vibe was electric. Some viewers even recited the film’s iconic dialogues while watching.

The film earned Rs 25.75 lakh on day one, Rs 45.50 lakh on day two, and Rs 51.25 lakh on day three. Seeing this, theatres added more showings.

Also featuring Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor, the film was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. It tells the tale of two goofy gold diggers chasing the same rich girl.

Though it bombed back in 1994, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ found life later through TV reruns and viral memes. Now, it’s winning hearts at the big screen all over again.
