Akansha Ranjan Kapoor Shines as Village Doctor in 'Gram Chikitsalay'

Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is back on screen, this time in a bold new role. She stars as Dr. Gargi in Prime Video’s latest show ‘Gram Chikitsalay’, set in a quiet village in Jharkhand.

Akansha plays the only female doctor in town, battling isolation, age-old traditions, and a lack of resources—all while healing others. She brings grace, power, and emotion to the role.

The actress said she always wanted to work with TVF and director Deepak Kumar Mishra, known for the hit show ‘Panchayat’. “It was a no-brainer,” she said, revealing she had been hoping for a role like this for a long time.

To prepare for the character, Akansha dove deep into Dr. Gargi’s personality. The writing, she says, was so solid that it helped her understand who the character really was.

Filming wasn’t easy. Akansha found the role emotionally intense and artistically different from anything she’d done before. It made her step far away from her usual urban characters.

She also admitted the show opened her eyes to rural healthcare struggles. Her performance not only tells a powerful story, but highlights real issues many viewers may not know about.

Stepping into Dr. Gargi’s shoes was more than acting for Akansha—it was transformation. And from the looks of it, viewers are in for something powerful.
