Adnan Sami Claps Back in Citizen Spat with Ex-Pak Minister

Singer-composer Adnan Sami has fired back at former Pakistani minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain after the latter questioned his Indian citizenship. This comes amid rising tensions following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir where 26 people, mostly tourists, lost their lives.

The Indian government has since asked all Pakistani nationals with valid visas to leave the country before their visas expire. Amid the announcement, Hussain took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a post with the caption, “What about Adnan Sami?”

Sami, who became an Indian citizen in 2015, wasn’t having it. He responded by calling Hussain an “illiterate idiot,” pointing out that he clearly didn’t know basic facts.

Hussain hit back, mocking Sami by saying he “looked deflated.” Sami clapped back again, correcting the former minister about his roots being in Peshawar, not Lahore. He also reminded followers that his mother was from Jammu and Kashmir.

Sami didn’t hold back, slamming Hussain’s past credentials. “You were Minister of (Mis) Information… And Science? Was that the science of BULLS**T??” he posted.

Adnan Sami first came to India in 2001 and stayed on a valid visa. When Pakistan didn’t renew his passport in 2015, India granted him citizenship on humanitarian grounds. Sharing his sorrow over the Pahalgam attack, Sami called it a “horrific crime against humanity.”
