Wamiqa Gabbi Brushes Off Critics, Marches On With Confidence

Actress Wamiqa Gabbi isn’t losing sleep over mixed reviews for her latest film, Bhool Chuk Maaf. She believes everyone has a right to an opinion and knows it’s impossible to please everyone.

Despite critics being divided, the film is doing fine at the box office. Wamiqa’s hometown Chandigarh showered her with love, making the actress feel proud and emotional.

In Bhool Chuk Maaf, she plays Titli—a simple small-town girl many found irritating. Wamiqa argues that such girls are real, and maybe some city folks can’t relate to their innocence and unfiltered hearts.

Drawing inspiration from influencer Dharna Durga, Wamiqa built her character with honesty. Her director Karan Sharma, though a newcomer, saw exactly what he wanted in her performance.

She also praised co-star Rajkummar Rao for being down-to-earth and generous on set. Recently, she wrapped up shooting with Akshay Kumar for Priyadarshan’s Bhoot Bangla, sharing laughs in Punjabi between scenes.

Next stop: a Telugu action spy thriller, G2, and a fantasy series with Raj and DK. Ask her the secret to surviving the industry? Wamiqa says it’s not beauty or talent alone. It’s patience.
