Emraan Hashmi Brings Bollywood Back to Srinagar After 38 Years

Emraan Hashmi’s latest film, Ground Zero, is making history. It’s the first movie to have a red carpet premiere in Srinagar in nearly four decades.

Hashmi and the film’s team landed in Jammu and Kashmir just ahead of the big event. He shared his excitement about being back in Srinagar, praising the people and the weather.

In a chat, Hashmi called this premiere a “symbolic moment” for the region. He believes this move could give local talent a much-needed boost and open doors in films and TV.

Ground Zero is an action-packed thriller based on real events. It tells the story of a BSF officer, Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who led missions after the 2001 Parliament and Akshardham Temple attacks.

Directed by Tejas Deoskar and produced by Excel Entertainment’s Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the film promises both grit and emotion. Hashmi spent nearly a month filming in the area.

The actor posted on X (formerly Twitter), calling it a ‘landmark day’ and dedicating the event to BSF soldiers. Ground Zero hits theatres on April 25.
