Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur is back in Chandigarh, where his culinary journey first began. This time, he’s launching his new pan-Indian restaurant ‘Pincode’ at CP67 mall.
Kunal started out as a student in Chandigarh 25 years ago. Now, he’s a TV star, author, and global culinary icon with restaurants in Delhi, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.
‘Pincode’ brings India’s diverse flavors under one roof. From Gujarati dhokla chaat to Kolkata’s chicken bhartha, the menu is full of old-school favorites with a modern twist.
The interiors match the theme—wooden chairs, vintage décor, and Punjabi folk music. Kunal says the name ‘Pincode’ nods to India’s past and the emotional connection we have with places.
Even the drinks and desserts have a local touch. The paan mocktail is a hit, and the Amritsari kulfa dessert is rich and nostalgic.
Still humble, Kapur recalls serving Amitabh Bachchan unexpectedly and missing his college eatery that gave out free salads. With more ‘Pincode’ outlets planned in Indore, Goa, and Bengaluru, the chef shows no signs of slowing down.
