Yami Gautam Dhar is carving a fresh path in Bollywood. She has been working consistently to build a filmography different from her past roles.
She made her debut with Vicky Donor but played secondary characters in movies like Badlapur and Kaabil. Over time, she proved her talent with standout performances in Uri: The Surgical Strike, A Thursday, and Article 370.
Now, she has no regrets about her previous choices. She respects her journey and believes those roles were a part of her growth.
“That was my past life. I can’t recall anything,” she said when asked about moving away from damsel-in-distress roles. For years now, she has focused on stronger characters.
Her upcoming film, Dhoom Dhaam, set to release on Netflix this Valentine’s Day, showcases her in a fearless, no-nonsense role. It’s a complete shift from her earlier screen appearances.
Looking back, Yami says she always knew her potential. It just took some time for the industry to see it too.
