The Railway Protection Force (RPF) caught a suspect in Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing case on a train at Durg railway station in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. The man, identified as Aakash Kailash Kannojia, 31, was traveling on the Jnaneshwari Express, which runs between Mumbai and Kolkata.
Around 12:30 PM, Mumbai Police informed RPF Durg about the suspect’s location via his mobile phone and shared his photo. RPF teams quickly acted, but the man couldn’t be found when the train stopped at Rajnandgaon, a station prior to Durg.
To ensure the arrest, two RPF teams waited at the Durg station. When the train arrived, the suspect was located in the front general compartment. His photo was verified with Mumbai Police, confirming his identity.
Mumbai Police said an intruder stabbed Saif, 54, multiple times at his Bandra home on Thursday during a robbery attempt. CCTV footage from the actor’s building helped police identify and track Aakash.
A police team from Mumbai is expected to arrive in Raipur by evening to take the suspect into custody. Authorities are now piecing together the events leading to his arrest.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan, a beloved Bollywood star, is recovering from his injuries, according to his doctors. Fans and the film industry are wishing him a speedy recovery.
